Medication costs

I'm 16 and I was diagnosed with ADHD (predominantly inattentive) in July. I take 30 mgs of Adderall a day. The doctor's visits and medication are expensive, but covered by my family's insurance. When I turn 18, will I be paying for my medication myself?

A lot of insurance programs let you stay on your parents' plan as long as you're in school (like mine). And some plans cover the whole family whether you're in school or not. And then of course some don't. This would be a good thing to discuss with your parents.

You should look at your medical insurance policy, or call them. My insurance (Blue Cross Blue Sheild of Minnesota) will insure me until I'm 25 as long as I'm a full-time student, so I lucked out. Check it out.
